The Hahnville Tigers traveled to Terrebone Friday night and took on a talented H.L. Bourgeois team. The Tigers knew going in that this team should not be overlooked. Hahnville will take on East St. John next week so the opportunity to look past Bourgeois was present. Coach Valdin did a good job of keeping his kids focus and had them ready for the Braves.
The Tiger Offense got on track quickly when quarterback Bryant Lee connected with Dale Robertson for a 26-yard touchdown strike with 8:18 remaining in the first quarter. Drew LeBlanc’s PAT was good and the Tigers took an early 7-0 lead. Terrance Isaac got into his rhythm early and didn’t look back. Isaac got his first score with a 1-yard touchdown run. LeBlanc PAT failed and the Tigers lead 13-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Isaac would go on to score the next three Tiger touchdowns and finish with 113 yards in the first half. His second score was a 23-yard scamper and the next was a run from 3 yards out. The Tigers missed both 2-point attempts and at the half the Tigers had a commanding 25-0 lead.
Isaac added another 3-yard touchdown with 4:21 remaining in the third quarter to bring his total to four. LeBlanc’s PAT was good and the Tigers increased their lead to 32-0. The Tigers would get their final score of the night when junior running back Jeremy Barnes ran it in from 63 yards out.
Bourgeois would score 10 unanswered points late in the fourth quarter. The Tiger defense continued their assault on district opponents. The Tiger defense has yet to allow a touchdown and it holding opponents to an average of 4 points per game. Hahnville’s defense did not allow Bourgeois to complete a pass and held the Braves to 96 yards of total offense. The only touchdown that was scored by the Braves was an interception return by Kerry Moss. The Tiger’s recorded their 19 th win in a row and improved to 3-0 in district play.
